Who we are

Words at Work is a trading style of B2B Resources Ltd, a company registered in England (Company Registration No: 03958964, VAT No: 759683859). Our registered office is 1 Royal Terrace, Southend On Sea, Essex, SS1 1EA.

For the purposes of data protection law, B2B Resources Ltd is the data controller for the personal information described in this policy.

What we collect

When you contact us or request a free website preview, we collect what you choose to send: your name, business name, email address, telephone number, website address, the service you are interested in and anything you write in the message field.

When you become a customer, we also hold the information needed to deliver the work: project notes, content and photographs you send us, domain and hosting access details, and correspondence by email.

If you pay us, our payment provider handles your card details. We never see or store your full card number.

Why we use it

• To reply to your enquiry and prepare anything you have asked for, such as a preview or a quote.
• To deliver work you have commissioned, and to contact you about it.
• To take and record payment for your work.
• To send occasional updates about our services, where you have agreed to hear from us.
• To keep accounting and tax records where the law requires it.

Where you have made an enquiry, we rely on our legitimate interest in responding to it and, where a project follows, on the contract between us. Marketing emails rely on your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.

Who we share it with

We do not sell or rent personal information. We share it only with the providers who help us run the business: our website and email platform, our email delivery provider, our payment provider for card payments, and our accountant. Each is bound to use the information only for the service they provide.

Some of these providers process data outside the UK. Where that happens, we rely on their standard contractual protections to keep your information safe.

How long we keep it

Enquiries that do not lead to work are kept for up to two years, so we can pick up the conversation if you come back to us. Customer records are kept for as long as we work together and for six years afterwards, to meet accounting requirements. Marketing consent is kept until you withdraw it.

Cookies and tracking

Our own website uses only the cookies needed to make it work, such as keeping you signed in to a customer area. We do not run advertising or third-party analytics trackers on it, so there is no advertising cookie banner to click.

Emails we send may record whether a link was opened or clicked, so we can keep our messages useful. You can avoid that by not clicking the links.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. You can also object to us using it, or ask us to restrict how we use it. To do any of these, email hello@wordsatwork.co.uk or call 020 7870 8759 and we will respond within one month.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk. We would always rather hear from you first.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle personal information, we will update this page and the date below.
